He holds an M.S. in Theoretical Physics (Leningrad State University, 1972), a Ph.D. in Human Physiology (Institute of Experimental Medicine, Leningrad, 1975), and is a Professor of Neuroscience (Institute of the Human Brain, Saint Petersburg). He was awarded a Doctor Honoris Causa degree by the Academy of Sports in Gdańsk (2013) and is a co-founder of HBImed AG (Chur, Switzerland). He is the author of over 300 scientific publications, including 12 books. Sterman Career Achievement Award (2021). His recent books, Quantitative EEG, Event-Related Potentials and Neurotherapy (Elsevier, 2009) and Functional Neuromarkers for Psychiatry (Elsevier, 2016), are among the most widely cited in clinical neuroscience.
Professor Kropotov is internationally recognized for pioneering the use of functional brain markers in clinical diagnostics and treatment planning. His scientific contributions have laid the foundation for applying QEEG and ERP methods in psychiatry and neurology, combining academic rigor with real-world application. Today, his protocols are widely used in clinics and research centers across Europe and beyond.
