Neurofeedback is the process by which an individual is presented with a real-time view of his or her own neurological patterns, learns strategies to manipulate brain waves, and aims to self-regulate different brain functions (Teplan, 2002; Johnstone, 2008). Patient, through a sensor and a recording device, receives information about the changes of EEG and tries to change it in a prescribed direction, which allows acquiring and developing the skills of controlled self-regulation, thereby influencing the course of pathological process.
During the course of biofeedback sessions, it is possible to strengthen or weaken some biological parameters and so the level of tonic activation of the regulatory system whose activity it reflects (N.L. Kunelskaya, et al. 2014).
